As much as I love Lanolips I dont think I quite loved this product as much as all the other products and ranges I have tried. This product was extremely thick - nothing like the 101 ointment which is very true in texture to a regular ointment. The Bronze Gold was very thick and wouldnt come out of the tube. The next day I left the taube in the sun for a while to perhaps (melt??) it and some did come out but it was extremely thick in texture. Moreover, it was a bit gritty/grainy and not very smooth like the 101 ointment. I think it was good in concept but the addition of pigment and shimmer has completely changed the integrity of an ointment.
2 stars - a good concept but very hard to use.
I applied it to my cheeks as a shimmer and for some colour. It felt very sticky on my face and I wouldnt reuse it for my cheeks. I also used it on my lips which was okay but didnt like the gritty texture and feeling. I like how with the regular ointment I can apply it anywhere (e.g. dry elbows) but this one feels very limited to only applying it to my lips.
I have very dry and dehydrated skin so I still tend to keep to the 101 ointment or golden salve when its very bad.
3/5 - whilst it was hydrating perhaps that grainy feeling detracted from how much hydration I was actually receiving.
